Hearing Aid Batteries and Accessories

After you have chosen the right hearing aids for you, it is time to choose the best hearing aid accessories and batteries to compliment and help maintain them.

Because hearing aids are meant to be worn daily, they require occasional upkeep to stay in working order. Some of the necessary accessories needed to care for and maintain your hearing aid may be provided by your hearing care provider as part of your hearing aids purchase. Others you may need to purchase separately, and are purely optional.

Hearing aid batteries are available in four different sizes. From smallest to largest, these are: 10, 312, 13 and 675. Your hearing aids will run on one of these specific types of batteries, and your hearing care provider will usually provide a small number of batteries to get you started. Batteries use a standardized colour coding system to help ensure you get the right type.

  • Size 10 batteries - yellow
  • Size 312 batteries - brown
  • Size 13 batteries - orange
  • Size 675 batteries - blue

Hearing Aid Trials

Processes Involved in your Hearing Aid Trials

There is a specific process that we carry out to execute the hearing aid trial method on you.
The steps associated with this process are as follows:

Hearing Assessment

Our experts conduct a comprehensive audiological evaluation to assess your hearing ability. This includes identifying critical aspects of your hearing health and noting all technical parameters required to understand your condition accurately.

Proper Diagnosis

After the assessment, our audiologists carefully diagnose your hearing condition. This step helps determine the severity of your hearing loss — whether it is mild, moderate, or severe — allowing us to recommend the most suitable solution.

Selecting the Right Hearing Aid

Based on the diagnosis, we help you choose the most appropriate hearing aid. Factors considered include your hearing test results, lifestyle, personal preferences, expectations, and daily listening environments.

Hearing Aid Fitting

Once selected, the hearing aid is fitted according to your comfort and requirements. Our audiologist will guide you on how it works, how to clean it, change batteries, adjust volume, and maintain it properly.

Trial Period

We offer both short-term and extended trial periods based on your experience level: If you have previously used a hearing aid, a short-term trial helps evaluate performance and balance. If you are a first-time user, a longer trial period is recommended to allow proper adjustment to different sound environments.

Follow-Up

After the trial period, a follow-up consultation is conducted. You can share your experience and concerns with our audiologists. If the trial is successful, you may proceed with continued use. If not, alternative solutions will be recommended.
